2019 Trip

Our group on this trip was amazingly talented and resourceful. We worked with more than 100 patients in four rehabilitation clinics.

We had one OT and five PT’s from Ohio, and one PT each from Georgia and New Jersey. An OT from Australia, who now calls Merida “home,” joined us for two days. This year we were unable to have a surgeon with us.

We met the new leadership of each town, having been elected at the end of 2018. By the end of our trip, we had established the relationships needed to proceed with planning for 2020 and beyond.

We celebrated a trip member’s birthday, enjoyed some delicious meals and tried several types of coffees in Tizimin and Merida. The trip included an unexpected change in hotels and a crazy game of loteria. We distributed lots and lots of gait belts!
